“Pilot Mountain isn’t just where I live. It’s home.”

My late husband, Bill, and I chose Pilot Mountain as our retirement home 16 years ago. We were drawn to the small-town way of life—the kind of place where a passing jogger still waves and says good morning.

After Bill passed away, I chose to stay. By then, Pilot Mountain wasn’t simply the place we’d retired. It was my community and my home.

Throughout my life, I’ve lived in different places, experienced different cultures, and built more than 50 years of experience in education and professional leadership. Life has also taught me about resilience, making difficult decisions, learning from mistakes, and moving forward after loss. I believe those experiences have prepared me to serve Pilot Mountain with perspective, compassion, and common sense.

I’m detail-oriented, tenacious, dedicated—and, as some people tell me, sometimes a little too nice. But I’ve always believed in doing the right thing.

Why I’m Running

I want Pilot Mountain to remain the kind of community that people are proud to call home. As we look toward the future, I believe we need to protect our town’s character while maintaining financial stability, strengthening our small businesses, and making thoughtful decisions about growth.

To me, leadership starts with listening. It also requires trust, transparency, and truth. Residents deserve commissioners who are accessible, who listen to their concerns and ideas, and who follow through on what they say they’ll do.

That’s the kind of commissioner I intend to be.

A Little More About Me

Away from town business, I enjoy jigsaw puzzles, quilting, sewing, music, playing the piano, and traveling. I’ve had the opportunity to experience different parts of the world, and those experiences have given me an even greater appreciation for different people, cultures, and traditions.

And I love to laugh. Life isn’t always easy, but I’ve learned that moving forward, continuing to grow, and finding some laughter along the way makes us stronger.

I’m asking for your vote because I want to serve the people of Pilot Mountain with trust, transparency, and truth.
